Body found after house fire
POLICE established a crime scene at Kippings Road, Strathbogie following a house fire last week.
Emergency services were called to the property at about 10.40am on September 28 to conduct a welfare check and found the property had been destroyed.
It’s believed human remains have been located in the property and investigators will await the results of a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
At this stage, the fire isn’t being treated as suspicious.
Strathbogie CFA captain David Hamilton confirmed that the CFA did not get a call regarding the fire.
According to another CFA officer who wished to remain anonymous, the fire “happened possibly within the five last days but no one knows exactly when”.
The location of the event leads to believe that the house was not visible from the road, which would explain why it went unnoticed.
