Alpine Valleys scholarship opportunity

-

THE Bendigo Bank - Community Bank Mansfield and District is once again offering a scholarship opportunity for the Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Program coming up in 2022.

The scholarship is available to community-minded residents of Mansfield and district with a commitment to developing their leadership skills.

Since 1998 the Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Program (AVCLP) has inspired and assisted hundreds of people to develop their leadership skills, knowledge of the region, and their network of senior management contacts.

AVCLP drives community leadership at a local level and helps create opportunity across the region by strengthening leadership capacity across all industry sectors.

Previous recipient of the Community Bank Mansfield and District Scholarship, Rachel Wolfe, graduated as part of the 2019-2020 cohort.

With a Bachelor of Nursing/ Bachelor of Science (Health Promotion), Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Critical Care) and a Master of Nursing (Education), Rachel’s particular interest in resuscitation training for healthcare providers and first aid training for the community saw her to be a great candidate for the scholarship.

The opportunity enabled her to further develop her skills and apply the knowledge gained, to mobilise networks and to inspire others to get involved in actions that support and uplift our great community.

Following graduation of the program, Rachel said “at the commencement of the Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Program, I was unclear about what to expect or what participating in the program would mean for me”.

“It was evident immediately from the opening retreat that the diversity, inspiration and encouragement from within the group was going to make for an exciting, motivating and challenging program,” she said.

“I cannot speak highly enough of the opportunity, the organisers, leadership group and learnings - community, professional and personal.

“I wasn’t aware of how much good is being done in the Alpine Valleys communities.

“This program has showed me some of what is done behind the scenes and how I can start to action ideas for change and improvement.”

The Community Bank’s Mansfield and District enterprise chairman David Mayne added: “AVCLP encourages and develops leaders across North East Victoria and Border regions that have the capacity to build and contribute to their communities and industry sectors.

“Thanks to the people of Mansfield and district who bank with us, we are able to offer this exciting opportunity to a member of our community.”

Applications for this specific scholarship are open through to October 17.
