Despite restrictio­ns Benalla Squash will will see out season


THE squashies are gradually getting used to the staggered start times on Monday and Wednesday nights to comply with COVID restrictio­ns.

At this stage it looks like the Benalla Squash Club will be able to see out the season.

Here are the results of last week’s Round 8 of the spring season competitio­n: Section 1:

Barkly Street Vets Team defeated Custom Squash Team three rubbers to one.

Greg Murphy defeated Wally Pastuszka (fill-in) 3/0, Adam Saddler defeated Paul O’Brien 3/2, Treena McNair lost to Robbie Elliott 0/3 and Gerry Margat defeated Connor McCombe 3/0.

Caslek Computing and Cabling Team defeated Dr Stuart Jones Dentist two rubbers each, nine games to seven.

Sandy Patterson lost to Stuart Jones 1/3, Gerard Vitti defeated Mark Rogers 3/0, Andrew Ham lost to Jason Dean 2/3 and Bechy Pastuszka defeated Rahis Baig 3/1.

Section 2:

Steph Ryan MP Team defeated Hollywoods Pizza Team two rubbers each, eight games to seven.

Liam Thivillier-Lefebvre defeated Alex Scherini 3/1, Ray Moulday defeated Sharon Gysberts 3/0, Damon Vaughan (fill-in) lost to Kyle Margat 0/3 and Andrew Costello lost to Lucas Ham 2/3.

HP Excavation­s Team defeated Smith Dosser Accountant­s Team three rubbers to one.

Liam Margat lost to Sharon Watkins 0/3, Toby Currie defeated Ben Flynn 3/0, Jye Pastuszka defeated Damon Vaughan 3/1 and Dawn Shaw defeated Kayleigh Stanton 3/0.
