A statement lip will get you through the festive season with ease. “A matt orange-red lipstick is a really good summer colour because it gives you that freshness,” says leading makeup artist Linda Jefferyes, who lines the lips to define and to “fill in any areas that need filling”. Team the look with flawless skin and skip the mascara.

SEA-GREEN EYES

A wash of shimmering green lends freshness to the smoky eye. Keep it cool with wisps of undone hair, which stylist Daren Borthwick achieves by “spraying oil into hair, working through with hands then wafting the hair as you mist with water.”

STARDUST

Ethereal yet sultry, this look is all in the placement. “Line the eyes with silver pencil or eyeshadow, then work into the crease, blending upwards,” says Jefferyes. To keep it modern and not Starlight Express, Jefferyes leaves a window of bare skin on the lids.

STATEMENT LASHES

Pristine skin is created with a light wash of foundation before going in with coverage where you need it. “Your skin is never one colour,” says Jefferyes, who brushes on concealer to add a new tone. Such a flawless canvas only needs lashes, coated with mascara then pinched with fingers for added drama.

DISCO FEVER
