After two years of immense challenge and change, hairdressers around Australia are once again celebrating the magic they bring to their clients each and every day. From colourists to hairstylists, the skill of a good hair professional should always be celebrated and never underestimated. But when it comes to inspiration and leadership in the industry, the L’Oréal Professionnel
Style & Colour Trophy competition has long been the ultimate accolade of talent, determination and vision – and this year is no different.
L’Oréal Professionnel Style & Colour Trophy is the longestrunning professional hair competition in the world, and
marie claire is once again a proud partner for the Australian competition. The winner will be selected from eight national finalists before going on to compete on the worldwide stage with hopes to secure the global title for Australia for a third year in a row. For hair professionals, Style & Colour Trophy is more than a hairdressing competition – it’s the chance of a lifetime for hairdressers to showcase their work and their business on a global stage.
This year, the judges gathered in Sydney for a briefing and their own magazine shoot. The theme of ‘French Edito’ invites entrants to create a premium magazine cover image that celebrates and reveals hair beauty and the latest colour and style directions.
Owner and Artistic Director of Zohair (and a former winner himself) Massimo Tirimacco was particularly thrilled about being a judge and seeing the wealth of Australian talent, both established and rising. “The biggest highlight of my career was winning the global L’Oréal Professionnel Style & Colour Trophy in 2021. I can’t wait to see what talent this year’s competition reveals,” he said.
“I’m passionate about making sure people can maintain their salon-quality style once they walk out the door.”
