GREAT LENGTHS
Irene Manyk at Base Hair shares her top tips on getting the length of your dreams with hair extensions.
“We use the highest grade of human hair,” says Manyk. “All of our permanent hair ranges [such as weft and tape hair extensions] are sourced from a single donor, which is coveted for its superior quality and versatility.”
“Hair extensions [need to] adapt to suit your lifestyle,” says Manyk. “You shouldn’t be able to differentiate between them and your real hair.”
You’ll need to book in for regular extension appointments. “Tape hair extensions need to be re-taped every four to six weeks, and weft hair extensions will need to be lifted around six to eight weeks,” says Manyk.
Use quality products. “Use a silk pillowcase and always apply a heat protection spray before using hot tools,” advises Manyk.
“Don’t cut or dye your extensions without professional help,” says Manyk. “Don’t sleep with wet hair and don’t use hydrating products or hair oils.” basehairextensions.com
The beachy hair of summer can give way to a more polished mane in cold seasons. “During winter, we usually focus on polished and sleek heat styling,” says hair expert Michael Brown. “We don’t ‘air-dry’ hair as much.”
This winter, Brown suggests a gorgeous bend in the hair or sleek, straight locks that look chic against winter coats. Here’s how to style during winter, with and without heat.
