CANCER AND CANCER RISING

It’s time to let the Crab out of the bag: candour and assertion are top of the list

-

LOVE AND RELATIONSHIPS

Good times and girls’ trips abound in the first five or so months of the year, as Jupiter completes its shimmy through your social sector (until May 26). With the planet that rules luck and abundance firmly in your corner, there’s never been a better time to organise that group trip to Uluwatu; bonus points if you take your break between April 7 and May 13, when your chance of an upgrade is greatly improved!

After your home season kicks off, the Capricorn full moon (July 21) looks unseasonably sweet with both Venus and Jupiter greasing the wheels to help even the most stoic people around you express how they really feel. It’s the sort of weather where you might make a serious commitment, or a surprise declaration could sweep you off your feet.

FAMILY AND HOME

The big shifts keep coming this year as the final act of a major storyline centred on your home and family life unfolds. Seeds first planted in April 2023 reach maturity by the final eclipse of the year (October 3).

In case you missed it, the key growth areas are around familiar relationships where you tend to hold your tongue and keep the peace rather than express how you’re really feeling. Look for opportunities to assert yourself and practise being more upfront. If it feels intimidating, take it in baby steps; remember, this is not a side your family are used to seeing. The new moon in Aries (around April 9) looks especially potent for standing your ground and trying out some radical candour for a change.

The medicine will be in learning to assert yourself and express your needs in a loving, compassionate way.

It’s big stuff, but ultimately you’ll come out of it a more whole, less pent-up person.

CAREER AND MONEY

Growth, opportunity and a fearless determination dominate your career story this year. With the eclipses highlighting beginnings around your work life, exciting opportunities, ideas and connections act as a catalyst for a new chapter.

If you’ve been thinking about starting your own business or launching a side hustle, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. This is a year to strike out on your own terms, dig deep and take a leap.

On a cash front, preparing for some extra out-of-pocket expenses could save you a whole lot of heartache at the end of the year when Mars goes retrograde in your financial sector. This is a time to be extra cautious about purchases – especially big-ticket items. If you do have to splurge, be sure to check the return policy, and whatever you do don’t throw away that receipt.

HEALTH AND WELLBEING

Prioritising rest, relaxation and solitude should form the foundation of your health and wellbeing strategy for 2024. With Jupiter gliding into the most contemplative part of your chart (from May 26), making space for silence will help to replenish your energy levels and calm a busy mind.

Exploring practices that use words and writing as a form of therapy (think journalling, free-writing or daily morning pages) could prove incredibly rewarding, especially around October 8. Book a retreat, enrol in a meditation course or treat yourself to a little therapy.
