WHAT IT IS Touted by many experts as one of the best technologies to lift and remodel both face and body without surgery, Morpheus8 uses a combination of skin needling (at the deepest layer of the skin) and radio frequency tech to work on the subdermal fibrous network of the skin to create lift, fullness and glow.

THE ISSUES IT TACKLES Morpheus8 on the face can treat issues such as

“skin laxity, acne scarring, and sun damage”, says Sanja Maria Murray, founder of Face by SM in Sydney, who offers the tech at her Mosman clinic. On the body, Murray says the treatment is great for skin laxity, crepey skin and working on “the appearance of cellulite”.

THE PROS It’s bespoke. This treatment can be tailored to your needs as well as used on a range of different areas of the body, making it a gamechanger for body tightening. “Settings are customised according to needs, concerns and desired outcomes to target a wide range of skin conditions,” explains Murray, who adds that the tech also works on all skin types.

WHO IT’S GOOD FOR Now that the tech is available for the body, it suits anyone who wants to reduce fatty tissue, tighten skin, reduce cellulite, scars or stretchmarks – even on tricky to treat areas. “Morpheus8 Body has become a major game changer,” says Murray. “We are now able to treat a large volume of surface area, penetrating 7-8mm deep in the sub-dermal tissue, making it perfect for those stubborn and difficult to treat areas such as stomach, buttocks, thighs, arms and knees.” The most common body issue that the team at Face by SM treat is skin laxity on the stomach post-pregnancy or weight loss. Murray adds: “There is also an increased demand in patients who would love to tighten the back of arms, buttock and cellulite on back of thighs. Concerns for crepey knees has also been a popular area of treatment.”

THE DOWNTIME “Expect to experience heat and mild swelling or bruising in the treated area for approximately 24-48 hours,” says Murray, who says you could also experience mild itching 1-2 weeks post treatment (on the body particularly) during the healing process. “We recommend a medical-grade posttreatment recovery gel, as well as avoiding active ingredients on the treated area [for 2 weeks], no sun exposure or strenuous exercise for at least 24-48 hours post.”

THE RESULTS A noticeable change in texture and skin tightening. You should see improvements after 2 weeks but the improvement will continue for 12 weeks post-treatment. NUMBER OF SESSIONS 3-10 for body parts, 3-6 weeks apart with a yearly maintenance treatment. For face, around 3 sessions, 4-6 weeks apart, with an optional maintenance treatment.

PRICE $800-$1000 per body area; $550-$1000 for the face. GET IT HERE facebysm.com. MORE INFO inmode.com.au.
