DRILLING DELIGHTS

-

THE EAGLE-EYED AMONG YOU will have already seen that our GPU reservoir is pitched up above a pump held in place by a single piece of tubing. EKWB’s PETG tubing is particularly strong compared to standard acrylic, and won’t crack at all, thanks to an improved chemical formula, making it more than ideal for this job. For the CPU reservoir, we decided to mount it at the top of the chassis. To do that, we broke out the trusty Dremel, marked two locations, using the mounting brackets as a guide, then drilled away, ensuring we didn’t hit the hard drive cages, and avoiding the rivets in the process.

It goes without saying that you mustn’t have any hardware installed while doing this, because getting conductive metal shavings over your gear is going to lead to trouble.
