Maximum PC

I read the review of the Be Quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 and was nearly drooling! Problem is, I can’t find it anywhere, and it should have been available since around June 2016. It seems neither Amazon, nor Newegg, nor BestBuy carry it. I can’t even find a way to order it directly from the manufacturer (not that I want to, due to cost— usually available for lower cost online). Where is it available, and where did you find the price? I could only find a price range at www.bequiet.com.

Also, I used to be able to get to MaximumPC online. Now www.maximumpc.com is replaced by PCGamer. I don’t want to go to there when I’m trying to go to MaximumPC. I know the two have combined, but where is all the good hardware info that is in Maximum PC? Gaming may be the big thing, but keep the websites separate! –Tom Beall REVIEWS EDITOR ZAK STOREY RESPONDS: If a piece of hardware is already available when we review it, we take the pricing from the very sites you mention. However, if a piece of kit is so new that it hasn’t hit the shelves yet, we go straight to the manufacturer to find out what the MSRP is. Which is exactly what happened with the Dark Base Pro 900. The good news is that this kick- ass case is now readily available from plenty of sites. You can get the Be Quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 from Newegg—it’s currently available for $ 229, which is $ 20 less than the manufacturer’s price. So a win- win all around, then. EXECUTIVE EDITOR ALAN DEXTER RESPONDS: When it comes to the website merger, it’s worth noting that it’s relatively early days still, and we’re trying to get the balance of content just right. The positive side of this is that we have more people available to cover events. More writers to write reviews, features, and articles. And due to the clout that PCGamer has in certain areas of the industry, we have better access to some manufacturers, too. So stay with us, and let us know your thoughts.
