You can hugely enhance your Trello experience by using “Power-Ups.” These are software modules that improve the application’s performance in some way. The Calendar View, for instance, exists thanks to a cleverly coded Power-Up.

Other useful Power-Ups include Slack, which enables you to communicate in real time with other Board members via the site’s messaging platform. There are also Dropbox and Google Drive Power-Ups, which offer a simple way to attach larger files to cards. The Custom Fields Power-Up enables you to add special fields to cards, such as dates, numbers, checkboxes, and drop-down menus.

To start adding Power-Ups, click the corresponding button on the right-hand side of the window, and select the “Enable” button next to your chosen add-on. You can choose from a variety of categories, such as “Analytics and Reporting,” by selecting the relevant tab. To deactivate a Power-Up, simply re-enter the menu, and click “Disable.”
