Maximum PC - - BLUEPRINT -

This is by far one of the slowest times of the year for hardware releases. At the end of the financial year, the vast majority of companies enter what’s known as a “quiet” period. At least, they do in the tech industry. What this means is no new tech releases until the next year. We’ve had Computex and CES, with various manufacturers showing off their latest prototypes, and that’s it—now we play the waiting game. Although that means we don’t have lots of things to talk about, it does mean we can focus on the little things. And for us, thermal paste is one of those little things that can make a big difference. There’s only one brand we go to for the goopy stuff, and that’s Noctua. Its NT-H1 is the perfect consistency. It’s not runny, it spreads well, transfers heat as well as any other paste we’ve tested, is affordable, and, more importantly, is non-conductive, so even if we get overspill, there’s limited chance of it frying anything. $ 6, http://noctua. at
