All-In-One Gaming VR

-

Oculus has announced the Quest, a VR headset that purports to be the world’s first all-in-one VR gaming system, no PC required. There are six degrees of freedom, a display resolution of 1600x1440 per eye, and four ultra-wide-angle sensors that track movement. It’s planned for indoor use only, although you’re free to wander anywhere you like, rather than stay in a defined area by your rig. Oculus is busy porting Rift games—it is hoped that there will be 50 ready by launch. All this is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which you’ll also find in a Samsung Galaxy S8. The Oculus Quest will be available in spring 2019, for $399.
