WHAT CAN I PLAY ON IT NOW?
Hey, it’s still early days, but here’s where Nvidia says you can enjoy ray tracing now, or very shortly.
Battlefield V
This is said to be one of the best places to start to showcase Turing’s abilities. Ray tracing is used to make lighting effects bounce around the environment. Muzzle flashes and explosions really pop, and there are some lovely reflections, as you can see in the supreme example above. It’s due by late November.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
This uses a more subtle approach, with the emphasis on generating softer and more natural shadows. Available now.
Assetto Corsa Competizione
Some impressive ray-traced reflections, shadows and ambient inclusions. It’s on Steam’s Early Access now.
Metro Exodus
This boasts of ray-traced global lighting and ambient occlusion for pixel-perfect shadows. Unfortunately, it’s not due until next February, though.
Enlisted
WWII-themed MMO due to launch next year with global illumination. It’s free to play, too.
MechWarrior 5
The MechBay is to feature lighting, shadows, and reflections; there may be more ray-traced features to follow. It’s due at some point next year.
Control
An action-adventure that uses elements of ray-traced reflections, global lighting, and shadows to boost its own graphics engine. It’s due sometime next year.
Atomic Heart
This weird FPS boasts ray-traced shadows and highlights, and some lovely shiny things in its creepy alternate universe. It’s due late next year.
Justice
A huge MMORPG from China, currently in beta testing, RTX support is promised.
JX3
Another huge Chinese MMORPG that’s promised RTX support at some point—details aren’t that forthcoming yet.
Project DH
A steampunk RPG that’s been stuck in development for quite a while now—no firm dates on release, or the level of RTX support.
