Long and Trott win knock­out tro­phy in hard fought event

AMANDA Long and Dot Trott played a great game at the Heath­cote Golf Club last Wed­nes­day to win the fi­nal of the 4-ball knock­out.

The 4-ball knock­out was con­tended by a team formed by Carol Stuart and He­len Car­lin against Long and Trott.

In a very good game go­ing right up to the 16th hole, Long and Trott won 3/2.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to the winners and thanks to all who took part in the knock­out.

A stable­ford was also played and the win­ner was Dawn Hud­son with 37 points.

SATUR­DAY’S rounds were stable­ford se­cret part­ners.

Seven ladies took part in the ladies event and the win­ning pair was Marg Sims and Dot McGil­livray who fin­ished with 68 points.

The Heath­cote Golf Club wishes to wel­come a new lady mem­ber in Rose­mary Hill who has just achieved her hand­i­cap and played in her first com­pe­ti­tion on Satur­day.

Eigh­teen men com­peted in the mens event. The winners on a count­back from Adam Hen­wood and Ge­off Cut­ting were John Blun­dell and Brian Davis with 68 points.

The best stable­ford score was achieved by Paul Rolfe with 37 points.

Nearest the pins were: Stev Ryan (13th); Stev Ryan (18th B Grade and su­per pin); John Blun­dell (18th C Grade). Birdie ball went to Adam Hen­wood on the 18th.

Adam has re­turned tem­po­rar­ily to Heath­cote after sev­eral years of be­ing un­able to play golf due to an old in­jury.

The club would like to wel­come Adam back and wishes him an en­joy­able stay.

THURS­DAY’S open was a stable­ford ag­gre­gate pairs, with 11 pairs tak­ing part.

The winners were Paul Rolfe and Ian Furneaux with 71 points.Ball com­pe­ti­tion winners were: Tony Hunter and E. Zaga 67 points; and Larry Maxwell and Son Quach 62 points.

Birdie ball went to: Tony Hunter (8th); Adrian King (13th) and Son Quach (13th).

ON TUES­DAY, May 22, Amanda Long and Dot Trott, along with Regina Driver and Dot McGil­livray, trav­elled to Kyne­ton to play in the 4BBB event.

Amanda Long and Dot Trott com­peted in B grade and carded 33 points, the winners scor­ing 40.

Regina Driver and Dot McGil­livray com­peted in A grade and achieved 35 points, not far be­hind the winners who carded 39. Both teams en­joyed the day de­spite the cold.
