It’s time to talk toilets before building begins
DRAFT detailed concept plans for the new Heathcote public toilets at Barrack Reserve have been produced and will be available to view at the City of Greater Bendigo office on High St until June 8.
The current public toilets located at the rear of the Heathcote Visitor Centre were built in the 1980s and are one of Greater Bendigo’s highly used facilities.
City of Greater Bendigo property services manager Andy Walker said a listening post about the new toilets will also be held from 10am-12pm on June 1 at the Heathcote office.
“This is an opportunity for residents to come along, ask questions and talk to the project’s architect and other council staff about the plans,” Mr Walker said.
“The draft plans incorporate feedback received from the community at the Summer Family Day, which took place at Barrack Reserve on February 16.
“We listened to the community and have developed detailed draft concept plans for a modern, accessible public toilet block.
“It is proposed to construct the new facility in the same location as the current toilet block. It will feature a covered entrance, security lighting, three male toilets and urinal, six female toilets, a unisex accessible toilet and space for a future changing place facility.’’
Feedback on the plan must be submitted to council via email to proper[email protected]
by 5pm on June 8.
