Tea and tips at business meeting

McIvor Times - - NEWS -

ARE you a local businesswoman looking to expand your network?

Then you might wish to put the Mitchell Women in Business group’s brunch event in your diary.

The high tea, to be held at the Red Lion Hotel in Kilmore on September 14 from 10.30am, will see bookkeeper Belinda Callick lead a question and answer discussion about best practice book-keeping, good habits and tips to keep costs down.

Women in Mitchell coordinator Anita Gisch, who has a background in anthropology and project management, said while Mrs Callick’s talk will have a practical focus, there will also be plenty of time for guests to mingle afterwards.

‘‘It’s perfect for anyone who wants tips for their business, or wants to meet like-minded peo- ple, or are interested in starting up a new venture, or people who work in the local area and want to connect with others,’’ Ms Gisch said.

The group, Ms Gisch said, is emerging as a key resource for women in the Mitchell Shire.

‘‘Women from many professions have joined the network including retail, fi- nance, health and construction,’’ she said.

‘‘In a few short months, participation in our events has doubled. We are gaining momentum quickly, allowing us to put on bigger, more exciting events.’’

Tickets to the high tea cost $20 and can be purchased through the Mitchell Women in Business Facebook page.
