A GROUP of 70 men played a sta­ble­ford dou­ble KO qual­i­fier event at Axedale Golf Club on Satur­day Septem­ber 15.

Mean­while, 16 ladies played a two-per­son am­brose ‘Cham­pagne Splash’. The day was spon­sored by San­tons of Bendigo.

Men’s event — Sta­ble­ford dou­ble KO qual­i­fier:

In first divi­sion, for hand­i­caps of 0-15, the win­ner was Wayne Mil­dren (13 h/c, 41 points). The run­ner-up was Max Ket­tle (11 h/c, 38 points) on a count-back from third place win­ner Phil Brooks (15 h/c, 38 points).

In divi­sion two, for hand­i­caps of 16-19, the win­ner was Brett Moore (16 h/c, 42 points). The run­ner-up was An­drew McDougall (16 h/c, 36 points) on a count-back from Mick Pur­don (19 h/c, 36 points).

In divi­sion three, for hand­i­caps of 20-36, the win­ner was Peter Pan­nell (23 h/c, 39 points) on a count-back from John Ran­dles (21 h/c, 39 points), also on a count-back. Third place went to Mark Kes­per (20 h/c, 39 points). Ball win­ners: Fred Di­jk­man 37, Rick Man­ley 37, Tom Phelan 37, Den­nis Higgins 37, Sam Bi­lardi 36 and John Gel­dart 36.

Ladies event — Twop­er­son am­brose ‘Cham­pagne Splash’

In divi­sion one of the ladies, the win­ners were: Ali­son Bar­ret and Sue Flint (11.5 h/c, 69.5 nett), while Ross­lyn Yum and Rose­mary Winther fin­ished run­ners-up (13.25 h/c, 69.75 nett).

In divi­sion two, there were joint win­ners, with Debbie Kes­per and Janelle Bren­nan (14.5 h/c, 68.5 nett) sharing the hon­ours with Pam Davies and Ann Whit­ing (14.5 h/c, 68.5 nett). Run­ners-up were Mau­reen Con­nelly and An­drea Min­nis (18.25 h/c, 68.75 nett). Near­est the pins: 1st hole — divi­sion one: Garry Har­rop; divi­sion two: Pam Davies.

3rd hole, sec­ond shot — divi­sion one: David Bail­lie; divi­sion two: Janelle Bren­nan.

6th hole — open: Don Mitchell.16th hole su­per-pin open: Sam Bi­lardi.

18th hole — divi­sion one: John Ney­lon; divi­sion two: Tony Mur­phy.

ON THURS­DAY, Septem­ber 13, 58 men played a sta­ble­ford event at the Axedale Golf Club, spon­sored by Car­ley Ad­vi­sory Ser­vices.

In first divi­sion, for hand­i­caps of 0-15, the win­ner was Rob Tay­lor (13 h/c, 35 points). The run­ner-up was Chris Phillips (10 h/c, 34 points) on a count-back, from third place win­ner Paul Leth­lean (4 h/c, 34 points).

In divi­sion two, for hand­i­caps of 16-21, the win­ner was David Bail­lie (16 h/c, 42 points). Mark Kes­per was run­ner-up (21 h/c, 40 points), while Den­nis Higgins fin­ished third on a count­back (16 h/c, 36 points).

In divi­sion three, for hand­i­caps of 22-36, the win­ner was Peter Thomas (22 h/c, 43 points). The run­ner-up was Alan Cle­ments (22 h/c, 35 points) on a count-back from Peter Pan­nell (24 h/c, 35 points), also on a count-back. Ball win­ners: Peter King 36, Geoff An­nand 36, Eric Rogers 35; John Ran­dles 35, Mick Pur­don 34 and Phil Har­ris 34 on a count­back.
