The key winer­ies that will be go­ing on show in 2018

Merindoc Cel­lar Door

MERINDOC is one of the most di­verse pro­duc­ers in the Heath­cote re­gion. With vine­yards at both ends of the re­gion we grow 22 dif­fer­ent grape va­ri­eties.

Sparkling white, whites, a sweet white, rose, reds and a sparkling red we have most tastes cov­ered.

This year we will be fea­tur­ing six new re­lease wines, Pinot Gris, Al­barino and Ver­mentino in the whites and San­giovese (gold medal win­ner at the Heath­cote Wine Show), Tem­pranillo and Neb­bi­olo in the reds.

Sil­ver Spoon Es­tate

SIL­VER Spoon Es­tate pro­duce dry-grown es­tate grapes and make 100 per cent grape va­ri­etal, award-win­ning wines. We are launch­ing two new re­lease wines — our first Rose´, made from 100 per cent Mourve­dre grapes and the 2017 MON­STER Shi­raz — you will ab­so­lutely want to take one of th­ese Mon­sters home. All your other favourite wines will be avail­able, in­clud­ing our Viog­nier, GSM and more de­li­cious Heath­cote Shi­raz. We’re look­ing for­ward to see­ing you all this week­end.

McIvor Es­tate

MOD­ELLED on an Ital­ian mixed farm, McIvor Es­tate is lo­cated at the South­ern end of the Heath­cote wine re­gion. It pro­duces pre­mium award-win­ning wines as well as ex­tra vir­gin olive oils. Pay­ing close at­ten­tion to the ar­eas slightly cooler tem­per­a­ture, va­ri­eties which pros­per un­der such con­di­tions have been planted. Marsanne, Rous­sanne Caber­net Sauvi­gnon Mer­lot as well as the Ital­ian va­ri­eties Ver­mentino, San­giovese and Neb­bi­olo are part of the McIvor Es­tate of­fer­ing, as is of course Shi­raz.

Hu­mis

TWENTY-FIVE de­grees and sunny — sounds like an ex­cel­lent week­end for some win­ery fun. Hu­mis Vine­yard will be there, cut­ting the rib­bon on our new 2018 Gre­nache Rose´. So de­li­cious it prom­ises to be big­ger than bot­tled wa­ter this sum­mer! Oh, and did I men­tion the 2016 Car­ménére? Yeah that one, the al­most ex­tinct Caber­net brought back from the brink, now hap­pily grow­ing in the Heath­cote re­gion? No, we’re keep­ing that un­der wraps. See you there!

Pere­grine Ridge

A BOU­TIQUE win­ery spe­cial­is­ing in hand crafted, el­e­gant Shi­raz (in­clud­ing For­ti­fied Shi­raz and Sparkling Shi­raz), Pere­grine Ridge’s fruit is es­tate grown, high on the east side of the Mt Camel Range. It will be re­leas­ing its 2012 Lim­ited Re­lease at the fes­ti­val and farewelling its NV Sparkling Shi­raz — a dual tro­phy, triple gold medal­list vin­tage. Be sure to get in quick for your Christ­mas fes­tiv­i­ties.

Vinea Mar­son

ES­TAB­LISHED in 2000, the Mar­son fam­ily cel­e­brates a wine­mak­ing legacy ex­tend­ing some four gen­er­a­tions in Italy and Aus­tralia at their Heath­cote es­tate, Vinea Mar­son.

Wine­maker Mario Mar­son pro­duces el­e­gant French and Ital­ian va­ri­etals from the Cambrian soil of the Sotto and So­pra vine­yards at the foot of the Mount Camel Range.

We are de­lighted to launch Vinea Mar­son’s new re­lease es­tate wines at the fes­ti­val — com­plex, mul­ti­clonal reds from San­giovese, Neb­bi­olo and Shi­raz Viog­nier, as well as a de­li­cious dry Rose´ and el­e­gant Viog­nier.

The Her­itage range will be launched through­out Oc­to­ber at Vinea Mar­son’s rus­tic Cel­lar Door.

Down­ing Es­tate

DOWN­ING Es­tate is a five red star James Hal­l­i­day-rated win­ery.

All of our wines will be avail­able at sub­stan­tially dis­counted prices, as this will be our last fes­ti­val as we move to­wards re­tire­ment in July 2019.

We will have on tast­ing our new re­lease 2012 Re­serve Shi­raz and Re­serve Caber­net Sauvi­gnon, plus the 2012 Mer­lot and Shi­raz, and the 2011 Caber­net Sauvi­gnon and Caber­net/Shi­raz Blend, all at dis­counted prices.

Coliban Val­ley

COLIBAN Val­ley Vine­yard was es­tab­lished in 1998 on an­cient Devo­nian soils in the cooler south-west cor­ner of the re­gion, us­ing en­vi­ron­men­tally sus­tain­able prin­ci­ples. Vines are now unir­ri­gated. Grapes are hand picked, gen­tly bas­ket pressed and aged in French oak. Wines show el­e­gance, in­ten­sity and the struc­ture to cel­lar well. Coliban Val­ley again won medals at the Heath­cote Wine Show, a Gold Medal Rose´ and Sil­ver Medal Shi­raz.

Idavue Es­tate

FAM­ILY owned and op­er­ated, pro­duc­ing award win­ning bou­tique wines. Own­ers and wine­mak­ers Andy and Sandy will be at the fes­ti­val, shar­ing their pas­sion with you. They live and breathe the real wine jour­ney of grape to wine, with no her­bi­cides and pes­ti­cides used in the vine­yard, and no fin­ing agents used in the wine mak­ing.

Aptly named ‘The Bar­rel­house’, their cel­lar door is truly unique with mu­sic para­pher­na­lia adorn­ing the walls. Mu­sic events are held monthly. Check out their an­nual fes­ti­val “Shi­raz” spe­cial, cheers!

She Oak Hill

ONE of Heath­cote’s orig­i­nal vine­yards, She Oak Hill pro­duces out­stand­ing dry grown fruit, mar­kets award win­ning Shi­raz wines, a small amount of Chardon­nay and Rose´ — all from the small fam­ily-run es­tate.

At this year’s fes­ti­val we will be show­cas­ing our newly re­leased 2017 Vin­tage, and wel­come vis­i­tors to taste this and a range of older vin­tages.
