The key wineries that will be going on show in 2018

Merindoc Cellar Door

MERINDOC is one of the most diverse producers in the Heathcote region. With vineyards at both ends of the region we grow 22 different grape varieties.

Sparkling white, whites, a sweet white, rose, reds and a sparkling red we have most tastes covered.

This year we will be featuring six new release wines, Pinot Gris, Albarino and Vermentino in the whites and Sangiovese (gold medal winner at the Heathcote Wine Show), Tempranillo and Nebbiolo in the reds.

Silver Spoon Estate

SILVER Spoon Estate produce dry-grown estate grapes and make 100 per cent grape varietal, award-winning wines. We are launching two new release wines — our first Rose´, made from 100 per cent Mourvedre grapes and the 2017 MONSTER Shiraz — you will absolutely want to take one of these Monsters home. All your other favourite wines will be available, including our Viognier, GSM and more delicious Heathcote Shiraz. We’re looking forward to seeing you all this weekend.

McIvor Estate

MODELLED on an Italian mixed farm, McIvor Estate is located at the Southern end of the Heathcote wine region. It produces premium award-winning wines as well as extra virgin olive oils. Paying close attention to the areas slightly cooler temperature, varieties which prosper under such conditions have been planted. Marsanne, Roussanne Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot as well as the Italian varieties Vermentino, Sangiovese and Nebbiolo are part of the McIvor Estate offering, as is of course Shiraz.

TWENTY-FIVE degrees and sunny — sounds like an excellent weekend for some winery fun. Humis Vineyard will be there, cutting the ribbon on our new 2018 Grenache Rose´. So delicious it promises to be bigger than bottled water this summer! Oh, and did I mention the 2016 Carménére? Yeah that one, the almost extinct Cabernet brought back from the brink, now happily growing in the Heathcote region? No, we’re keeping that under wraps. See you there!

Peregrine Ridge

A BOUTIQUE winery specialising in hand crafted, elegant Shiraz (including Fortified Shiraz and Sparkling Shiraz), Peregrine Ridge’s fruit is estate grown, high on the east side of the Mt Camel Range. It will be releasing its 2012 Limited Release at the festival and farewelling its NV Sparkling Shiraz — a dual trophy, triple gold medallist vintage. Be sure to get in quick for your Christmas festivities.

Vinea Marson

ESTABLISHED in 2000, the Marson family celebrates a winemaking legacy extending some four generations in Italy and Australia at their Heathcote estate, Vinea Marson.

Winemaker Mario Marson produces elegant French and Italian varietals from the Cambrian soil of the Sotto and Sopra vineyards at the foot of the Mount Camel Range.

We are delighted to launch Vinea Marson’s new release estate wines at the festival — complex, multiclonal reds from Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Shiraz Viognier, as well as a delicious dry Rose´ and elegant Viognier.

The Heritage range will be launched throughout October at Vinea Marson’s rustic Cellar Door.

Downing Estate

DOWNING Estate is a five red star James Halliday-rated winery.

All of our wines will be available at substantially discounted prices, as this will be our last festival as we move towards retirement in July 2019.

We will have on tasting our new release 2012 Reserve Shiraz and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, plus the 2012 Merlot and Shiraz, and the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet/Shiraz Blend, all at discounted prices.

Coliban Valley

COLIBAN Valley Vineyard was established in 1998 on ancient Devonian soils in the cooler south-west corner of the region, using environmentally sustainable principles. Vines are now unirrigated. Grapes are hand picked, gently basket pressed and aged in French oak. Wines show elegance, intensity and the structure to cellar well. Coliban Valley again won medals at the Heathcote Wine Show, a Gold Medal Rose´ and Silver Medal Shiraz.

Idavue Estate

FAMILY owned and operated, producing award winning boutique wines. Owners and winemakers Andy and Sandy will be at the festival, sharing their passion with you. They live and breathe the real wine journey of grape to wine, with no herbicides and pesticides used in the vineyard, and no fining agents used in the wine making.

Aptly named ‘The Barrelhouse’, their cellar door is truly unique with music paraphernalia adorning the walls. Music events are held monthly. Check out their annual festival “Shiraz” special, cheers!

She Oak Hill

ONE of Heathcote’s original vineyards, She Oak Hill produces outstanding dry grown fruit, markets award winning Shiraz wines, a small amount of Chardonnay and Rose´ — all from the small family-run estate.

At this year’s festival we will be showcasing our newly released 2017 Vintage, and welcome visitors to taste this and a range of older vintages.
