Battle lines are drawn
HEATHCOTE’S famous Shiraz wines woo drinkers around the world with their renowned full-body flavour and character.
Now they’re vying for favour from Battle of the Vines co-host Frank Moylan — and a spot in the hit SBS Food Network program.
Frank and the crew from Battle of the Vines will film the TV program’s first regional battle at this year’s Heathcote Wine and Food Festival on October 6 and 7.
Heathcote has picked up the first ‘regional wildcard’ for the 2019 series of Battle of the Vines, which is offering spots for 64 of the region’s best Shiraz to be blind-tasted by Moylan and other judges; who will finally select that one special Heathcote bottle to appear on the show that pits state against state to find out who makes the best wine.
Each winery is given one entry into the Battle of the Vines and a second entry may be submitted at a fee of $100.
Second entries will be accepted on a first lodged basis and until all 64 spots are full.
