Ladies day on the road

Kyne­ton Golf Club’s Robyn MacRae (left) and Heath­cote’s win­ner, ladies cap­tain Dot Trott, were all smiles after a stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion be­tween the two clubs last week.

HEATH­COTE and Kyne­ton golf clubs joined to­gether on Wednes­day to en­joy a game of Stable­ford fol­lowed by a light lunch.

The win­ner for Heath­cote was cap­tain Dot Trott with 39 points off 30 with run­ners-up be­ing June Roberts with 34 points off 35 and Rosie Hill with 33 points off a hand­i­cap of 45.

The win­ner for Kyne­ton was Rob McCrae with 33 points off 22.

Run­ners-up for Kyne­ton were Dot Green­way with 32 points off 30 and Ruth Booker with 32 points off a hand­i­cap of 42.

THURS­DAY’S se­cret part­ners game was well sup­ported with 16 teams play­ing off in this mys­tery game.

The win­ning team was David Bal­dock and Ian Furneaux with 72 points on a count­back from John Do­bie and John Mil­li­gan and John Blun­dell and Son Quach.

Com­ing last with a sad score of 48 points were Colin Sto­baus and Les Mo­rante. There is al­ways next week. Su­per pin was won by Ryan Lynch.

TUES­DAY’S open com­pe­ti­tion was won by Terry Shiels with 41 points off 21.

Ball com­pe­ti­tion win­ners were: Roy Wil­liams, Michael Pat­ter­son, Brian Wearne, Gary Boyes and Paul Win­tle.

Birdies went to: Adrian Goudie and Shane Mor­ris on the 13th and Roy Wil­liams on the 16th. Near­est the pin went to Terry Shiels.

THERE are no re­sults at all for Sat­ur­day men’s or ladies’ golf — per­haps they went west with the AFL premier­ship cup.

It was a de­light to see a fam­ily group play­ing on Sun­day with all the young­sters hav­ing a hit on the course. Start­ing them young means a life­time of en­joy­ment for them.

Mem­bers are re­minded the Heath­cote Golf Club AGM will be held tonight (Wednes­day, Oc­to­ber 3) at 7pm in the clu­b­rooms.

New play­ers and guests are al­ways wel­come at Heath­cote.
