Ladies day on the road
Kyneton Golf Club’s Robyn MacRae (left) and Heathcote’s winner, ladies captain Dot Trott, were all smiles after a stableford competition between the two clubs last week.
HEATHCOTE and Kyneton golf clubs joined together on Wednesday to enjoy a game of Stableford followed by a light lunch.
The winner for Heathcote was captain Dot Trott with 39 points off 30 with runners-up being June Roberts with 34 points off 35 and Rosie Hill with 33 points off a handicap of 45.
The winner for Kyneton was Rob McCrae with 33 points off 22.
Runners-up for Kyneton were Dot Greenway with 32 points off 30 and Ruth Booker with 32 points off a handicap of 42.
THURSDAY’S secret partners game was well supported with 16 teams playing off in this mystery game.
The winning team was David Baldock and Ian Furneaux with 72 points on a countback from John Dobie and John Milligan and John Blundell and Son Quach.
Coming last with a sad score of 48 points were Colin Stobaus and Les Morante. There is always next week. Super pin was won by Ryan Lynch.
TUESDAY’S open competition was won by Terry Shiels with 41 points off 21.
Ball competition winners were: Roy Williams, Michael Patterson, Brian Wearne, Gary Boyes and Paul Wintle.
Birdies went to: Adrian Goudie and Shane Morris on the 13th and Roy Williams on the 16th. Nearest the pin went to Terry Shiels.
THERE are no results at all for Saturday men’s or ladies’ golf — perhaps they went west with the AFL premiership cup.
It was a delight to see a family group playing on Sunday with all the youngsters having a hit on the course. Starting them young means a lifetime of enjoyment for them.
Members are reminded the Heathcote Golf Club AGM will be held tonight (Wednesday, October 3) at 7pm in the clubrooms.
New players and guests are always welcome at Heathcote.
