AXEDALE GOLF CLUB
A TOTAL of 79 men and 21 ladies played an event at the Axedale Golf Club on Saturday, October 6. The event was sponsored by Helen and Tony Lindrea. Men’s event: In division one for handicaps of -5-15, the winner was Allan Andrews (78 gross, 11 h/c, 67 nett). The runner-up was Wayne Mildren (80 gross, 12 h/c, 68 nett). Third place went to Steve Martin (81 gross, 12 h/c, 69 nett).
In division two for handicaps of 16-20, the winner was Tim Holmes (80 gross, 17 h/c, 63 nett). The runner-up was Mark Kesper (84 gross, 20 h/c, 64 nett), while third place went to Rick Franklin (83 gross, 17 h/c, 66 nett) on a countback.
In division three for handicaps of 21 to 36, the winner was Craig Kealy (87 gross, 23 h/c, 64 nett). The runner-up was Ernie Lowndes (90 gross, 25 h/c, 65 nett). Third place was secured by Owen Davies (96 gross, 26 h/c, 70 nett). Ball winners: Seb Lanteri 66, Rod Threlfall 68, Phil Brookes 69, Bill Andrea 69, Mick Purdon 69 and John Torney 69. Ladies Event: In the ladies division one, the winner was Ruth Iser (82 gross, 13 h/c, 69 nett), from runner-up Rosemary Winther (97 gross, 25 h/c, 72 nett).
In the ladies division two, the winner was Alyson McCulloch (107 gross, 36 h/c, 71 nett). The runnerup was Sue Minne (103 gross, 29 h/c, 74 nett).
Ladies Stableford winner: Anne McManus (45 h/c, 41 points).

In first division, for handicaps of 0-15, the winner was Tom Phelan (13 h/c, 37 points). The runner-up was Peter Hoskin (9 h/c, 35 points) on a count-back from Rod Connelly (14 h/c, 35 points).
In division two, for handicaps of 16-21, the winner was Geoff Arundell (17 h/c, 40 points). The runner-up was Don Leversha (17 h/c, 39 points) on a count-back from Brian Edwards (21 h/c, 39 points).
In division three, for handicaps of 22-36, the winner was Noel Holmes (27 h/c, 42 points) on a count-back from Phil Harris (34 h/c, 42 points).
