ON SATUR­DAY, a sta­ble­ford was held for the men while the ladies played a 4BBB sta­ble­ford at the Axedale Golf Club. The day’s spon­sor was Car­ley’s Ad­vi­sory Ser­vices. Men’s sta­ble­ford: In first di­vi­sion of the men’s the win­ner was Glenn Mor­ri­son (7 h/c, 41 points). The run­ner-up was Sam Bi­lardi (15 h/c, 40 points). Third place went to Rob Tay­lor (12 h/c, 37 points).

In di­vi­sion two, the win­ner was Pe­ter Richard­son (17 h/c, 41 points). The run­ner-up was Brian Ed­wards (20 h/c, 38 points) from David Stephens (18 h/c, 37 points) in third place on a count­back.

In di­vi­sion three, the win­ner was Greg Hamil­ton (24 h/c, 39 points). The run­ner-up was Rus­sell McGib­bon (23 h/c, 37 points). Third place went to David Yum (26 h/c, 36 points). Ball win­ners: Ai­den Fitzger­ald 37, Ian Lo­gan 37, Steve Lee 36, Brandt Flem­ming 36, War­ren Pol­lock 36 and Brett Moore 36.

4BBB women’s sta­ble­ford In the women’s 4BBB sta­ble­ford event, di­vi­sion one, the win­ning pair was Dianne Wen­zlau (16 h/c) and Therese Lynch (40 h/c) with a to­tal nett score of 50.

The run­ner-up team com­prised Mar­i­anne Dunn (31 h/c) and Ross­lyn Yum (29 h/c) with a to­tal nett score of 45 on a count­back.

Ball win­ners: Sue O’Con­nor and Pam Davies 45; Mandy Hamil­ton and Deb­bie Kes­per 44. Near­est the pins: 1st hole – di­vi­sion one: Ian Lo­gan; di­vi­sion two: Kevin Craw­ford.

3rd hole, 2nd shot – di­vi­sion one: Jock Catto; di­vi­sion two: Tom Long­ford. 6th hole – open: Seb Lan­teri. 16th hole – Su­per­pin: Jock Catto.

18th hole – di­vi­sion one: Brian Re­tal­lick; Wal­dron. Other high­lights: Birdie balls: Seb Lan­teri on the 6th; Reece Thomp­son on the 18th.

A to­tal of 61 men took part in a sta­ble­ford event at the Axedale Golf Club on Thurs­day.

The event was spon­sored by MacDon­alds Nurs­ery.

In di­vi­sion one, for hand­i­caps of 0-16, the win­ner was Rob Tay­lor (13 h/c, 41 points). The run­ner-up was Paul Pyke (9 h/c, 40 points). Third place went to Chris Phillips (10 h/c, 38 points).

In di­vi­sion two, for hand­i­caps of 17-23, the win­ner was Pe­ter Richard­son (17 h/c, 39 points). The run­ner-up was Gary Day (18 h/c, 36 points) on a count­back from Len Rodda (19 h/c, 36 points), also on a count­back.

In di­vi­sion three, for hand­i­caps of 24-36, the win­ner was David Purdy (33 h/c, 37 points) on a count-back from Vik Sa­bali­auskas di­vi­sion two: Ge­off (26 h/c, 37 points), while third place went to David Lubke (24 h/c, 36 points).
