Help make Halloween sweet

McIvor Times - - NEWS - By MICHAEL MATTINGLY

GRAB your masks and dust off your dress-ups, Halloween is coming to Heathcote.

Halloween balloons and streamers have started started popping up around town recently and a group of dedicated locals have also started a Facebook group to get the word out.

They’re encouraging everyone to stock their cupboards with some treats and take part in Halloween.

“I think it’d be amazing for the kids and I just think, why not?” Lucy Walsh, who has been involved in organising Heathcote Halloween, said.

“While they are young you want to give them as many fun and great memories as you can, because being old is no fun at all.

“I have some great memories from Halloween as a kid and I think so many children in Heathcote could too.”

The trick or treating is planned to start around 5.30pm, where kids, accompanied by their parents, will come knocking in search of some treats.

A good way to let the local children know you may have a treat for them is to place some balloons or streamers at the front your house.

So if you are home tonight, go down and grab some lollies, chocolates and streamers so you can join in the fun when those trick or treaters come knocking.
