WED­NES­DAY’S women’s com­pe­ti­tion was won by Dawn Hud­son 110-35-75, with Regina Driver run­ner-up, scor­ing 102-25-77.

John Gastin was the win­ner on Thurs­day in an open com­pe­ti­tion, card­ing 38 points.

Sat­ur­day’s women’s com­pe­ti­tion was won by Dot Trott with 28 points off a hand­i­cap of 27.

The men’s com­pe­ti­tion on Sat­ur­day was won by David Clous­ton with 41 points off a hand­i­cap of 2 in di­vi­sion one. David also scored a birdie on the sec­ond hole and was near­est the pin on the 16th.

Di­vi­sion two was won by Doug Os­bourne who was a vis­i­tor that day, scor­ing 41 off a hand­i­cap of 17 on a count­back from Eron Sage who played off a hand­i­cap of 15.

Alan Healy won di­vi­sion three with 38 off 29.

Balls were awarded to: Eron Sage, Justin Gar­diner, Alan Sto­baus, Adrian Goudie, Phil Cole­man, Brian Davis and Pe­ter Hangmyer (a vis­i­tor from Mo­rang).

Birdies went to David Clous­ton on the 2nd; Kent Davies and Alan Sto­baus on the 8th; Alan Sto­baus on the 13th; Mitch Hogg on the 16th; and Martin Sims on the 6th. Alan Healy scored a par on the 18th hole.

The greens are com­ing along nicely af­ter the cor­ing and the course was en­joyed by our vis­i­tors from Axedale, Mo­rang and Mel­bourne on Sat­ur­day.

John Mu­gavin was suc­cess­ful in beat­ing Willie Laird in the sin­gles knock­out, 1 up, tak­ing un­til the 19th hole in a very tight con­test.

Fri­day evening saw the club­house come alive with the sounds of Neil Di­a­mond.

A lot of fun was had by those who at­tended and over­all it was a very suc­cess­ful evening.

Judg­ing by the an­tics on the dance floor the peo­ple of Heathcote have lost none of their “get up and go” or their sense of rhythm from their youth.
