Heathcote Golf Club
WEDNESDAY’S women’s competition was won by Dawn Hudson 110-35-75, with Regina Driver runner-up, scoring 102-25-77.
John Gastin was the winner on Thursday in an open competition, carding 38 points.
Saturday’s women’s competition was won by Dot Trott with 28 points off a handicap of 27.
The men’s competition on Saturday was won by David Clouston with 41 points off a handicap of 2 in division one. David also scored a birdie on the second hole and was nearest the pin on the 16th.
Division two was won by Doug Osbourne who was a visitor that day, scoring 41 off a handicap of 17 on a countback from Eron Sage who played off a handicap of 15.
Alan Healy won division three with 38 off 29.
Balls were awarded to: Eron Sage, Justin Gardiner, Alan Stobaus, Adrian Goudie, Phil Coleman, Brian Davis and Peter Hangmyer (a visitor from Morang).
Birdies went to David Clouston on the 2nd; Kent Davies and Alan Stobaus on the 8th; Alan Stobaus on the 13th; Mitch Hogg on the 16th; and Martin Sims on the 6th. Alan Healy scored a par on the 18th hole.
The greens are coming along nicely after the coring and the course was enjoyed by our visitors from Axedale, Morang and Melbourne on Saturday.
John Mugavin was successful in beating Willie Laird in the singles knockout, 1 up, taking until the 19th hole in a very tight contest.
Friday evening saw the clubhouse come alive with the sounds of Neil Diamond.
A lot of fun was had by those who attended and overall it was a very successful evening.
Judging by the antics on the dance floor the people of Heathcote have lost none of their “get up and go” or their sense of rhythm from their youth.
