Christmas lunch goes down a treat

McIvor Times - - NEWS - By VANESSA WILTSHIRE

DECEMBER is a social month, especially in regional towns and communities like Heathcote.

More than 30 residents celebrated Christmas at the Uniting Church’s monthly community lunch, which included all the traditional trimmings.

“It’s a great way for people to get out and celebrate, especially if they don’t have too many opportunities otherwise,” one organiser said.

The lunch was prepared by a team of volunteers from the church, many of whom were still working in the kitchen when dessert was served.

As it is for all their lunches, the Christmas gathering was free. Attendees said they enjoyed the sense of community and appreciated the opportunity to have a laugh, catch up with friends and eat delicious food.

All members of the Heathcote community are invited to attend a lunch in 2019.
