IMPROVEMEN­T WORKS CONTINUING AT THE RSL

Have you noticed some activity at the Heathcote RSL? Seen tradies coming in and out?

2YHU WKH SDVW ILYH WR VL[ \HDUV WKH +HDWKFRWH 56/ KDYH applied for grants and funding to improve the facility. The RSL has big plans to extend the building towards the back of the hall, as currently, there is no storage space available. During this time, the Council have joined the party, the ceiling tiles in the main hall have been replaced. All the vents have been bricked up, and the walls will be rendered and painted.

Miles Humphrey, Secretary of the Heathcote RSL stated, “The bar area will be completely ripped out and renovated. It will make it more functional, and we are also planning WR EXLOG DQ R൶FH VSDFH LQ WKH IXWXUH ´

The renovated bar area will provide more room for community groups, events and meetings.

In the short term, there will be some disruption to groups who have hired the hall.

“The black-tie ball has been postponed from September to late December 2021 or early 2022,” Miles said.
