Lake Eppalock is filling steadily with water appearing at sites where it hasn’t been seen for 10 years. Derrinal resident Joan Underhill lives on the high watermark of the once brimming lake … for years now, her views have been of cows grazing on the dry lakebed. But recently water has been creeping around the point adjacent to Joan’s house and is now visible from it.

The Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Flotilla 5 at Lake Eppalock is in need of funds to replace its ageing rescue vessel.

The five-knot blanket speed restrictio­n for watercraft users at Lake Eppalock has been lifted.

The $700,000 reconstruc­tion of a section of the Axedale-Kimbolton Rd in Axedale is nearing completion. The works undertaken by the City of Greater Bendigo, include a new $350,000 bridge over Axe Creek. Heathcote Tennis Club’s annual general meeting had to be deferred due to a lack of numbers at its meeting on Wednesday.


Heathcote’s monthly Sunday market has been closed. The City of Greater Bendigo this week moved to stop the monthly Sunday market and opted not to change market day back to Saturday.

The Heathcote Football and Netball Club is once again in pursuit of a number of premiershi­p flags as the finals series begins this weekend. The seniors, reserves and under 17s are all involved in the football finals this weekend, as are the A grade and C grade netballers.
