Founder and creative director, Viktoria & Woods
Since she launched her label in 2004, Margie Woods has had a singular vision. “To inspire and deliver confidence through a considered and meaningful wardrobe,” she says, and Melbourne is the perfect city in which to do that. “Melbourne’s creative landscape has always been a little more underground, with many pockets of influence all fostering a unique vibe,” she says. At the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, fans can see Viktoria & Woods’ autumn collection at Premiere Runway 1, sponsored by vogue.com.au. “VAMFF provides designers and emerging artists a platform to celebrate, communicate and collaborate on a broader scale and invites the consumer into our world,” says Margie.
Here are some of Margie’s favourite places:
Alimentari in Fitzroy is an institution. It’s no fuss, local and I love any place with a food store and deli attached.
I love everything about Cutler & Co — its design, location, ambience and perfect balance between elegance and simplicity.
Franque in Toorak is a unique space, showcasing emerging and collectible art in all its forms, including sculptures, glassware, jewellery and so much more.
Free Thing To Do
Heide Museum of Modern Art is just a quick drive from Melbourne’s CBD. It’s the perfect day trip for inspiration and fresh air.
