01 Manchester Unity Building
Look up on Swanston Street to see the impressive facade of this 1932 structure, which combines elements of Gothic and
Art Deco architecture. At the time of its construction, it was considered to be the most technologically advanced building in the city. Tours run every month.
02 Australian Centre for Contemporary Art
As many people visit ACCA to admire its rusted steel facade — created by local firm Wood Marsh in 2002 — as to view the extraordinary large-scale installations inside. The building itself references the sheds, warehouses and foundries that originally occupied the site.
