TWO long-time friends have teamed up for an exhibition at Atwell Gallery during November.

Ardross resident Bev Johnson and South Lake resident Pam Lockwood have been involved in multiple arts societies together for more than 15 years.

Capturing the Light is their first exhibition as a duo and it features Australian-themed watercolours and acrylics.

Mrs Lockwood said the idea of working together came as their styles complemented each other.

“There are lots of flowers and WA landscapes,” she said.

Mrs Johnson said the exhibition recognised the beauty of the state.

“Watercolour paintings are always a challenge because you don’t know what results you are going to get,” she said.

The duo will present a talk and demonstration on Wednesday, November 7, from noon to 2pm.

Mrs Johnson won first prize for watercolours at the Alfred Cove Art Society’s Annual Awards of Excellence Exhibition, which ran earlier this year.

Atwell Gallery is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
