The end of your twen­ties de­liv­ers a dou­ble gut punch: not only is it more dif­fi­cult to find the time to train around your work and new re­spon­si­bil­i­ties, but when you do make it to the gym, it’s also tougher to see re­sults. Your body is pump­ing out fewer mus­cle-build­ing hor­mones, yet that’s no rea­son to ease up. “De-train­ing oc­curs rapidly, and restart­ing a reg­i­men from scratch is tough on your body,” says sports sci­en­tist David Leith. In­stead, he ad­vo­cates a more var­ied ap­proach for com­plete fit­ness.
