LETTER OF THE WEEK

I loved Frances Underwood’s story ( TasWeekend, March 21-22) regarding why she and her late husband, Peter Underwood, felt so passionately about improving education standards and attitudes in Tasmania. Their claim that it is a “social justice issue” cannot be lost. To ensure Peter and Frances’ vision is followed through, the Peter Underwood Centre for Educational Attainment at the University of Tasmania will need to acknowledge a learner’s readiness to learn can only be achieved when their differing learning styles are considered.
