MINDY KWANTEN

- PERFORMER

I am happiest when … I am aligned with nature and all of my wants and desires. You wouldn’t know it but … I often blow into a cup or glass before I pour liquid into it to drink. My most embarrassing moment … I don’t know! As I get older I tend not to care about what other people think. The last time I cried was … two days ago over some perfect lyrics by Tom Waits. The last book I read was … Imperial Bedrooms by Bret Easton Ellis and I loved it. My favourite films are … thrillers. I know it’s a good movie when the fear has bled into my real life. I really want to … write and record more songs through my electro soul duo Bow and Arrow. My guilty pleasure is … no guilt, no regrets. Life has taught me … Everything is vibration. Thoughts become things. Where you focus and how you focus grows. Water the flowers of your mind and not the weeds. I’m about to … meet the love of my lifetimes and go for an afternoon walk along the beach with our black poodle Ziggy Stardust. My first job was … singing. I’m one of the lucky ones that hasn’t held down a “normal” job. My most memorable work-related moment is … singing in Yorta Yorta [Aboriginal] language during the show and also backstage for Uncle Archie Roach. What I enjoy most about my work is … the creativity and expression … and sharing that with hundreds of other people and delivering that connection straight into their hearts and minds.
