From vintage Lanvin and designer Champs-Elysees purchases to simple tees and a red lip, the Camilla & Marc creative director’s wardrobe is the perfect blend of simple and statement.

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is highly tailored and very comfort driven. That sounds like an oxymoron, however it actually can work. My go-to look is sneakers with tailored trousers, a quality T-shirt, and a classic trench or blazer. . Who are your style icons? Although I’m not too retro in my day-today style, I adore the 70s for its two major style icons – Jane Birkin and Bianca Jagger.

What’s the oldest thing in your wardrobe?

My grandmother’s jewellery and Lanvin trench coat from the ’70s.

What summer trend are you loving? I’ve been wearing a lot of lightweight summer suiting.

What is the most surprising thing about your wardrobe?

The amount of colour I am embracing.

Have you ever made a style faux pas?

Everything is a learning experience; I don’t believe in faux pas – we should be free to experiment with our wardrobes and try new things without too much selfjudgment.

What’s the most you’ve spent on an outfit?

I spent much more on fashion when I was younger. I can’t quite remember but surely it would have been on a trip to Paris when I was completely immersed in the ChampsÉlysées boutiques.

Tips for taking outfits from day to night? Historically it was all about the shoe, however now I am always wearing flats. I transform my outfits by layering a beautiful trench to elevate the outfit or add a strong lip in my makeup to give the outfit an entirely new feel.

Top wardrobe must-haves?

A beautiful trench coat; an ultrafine knitted tee; tailored pants.

What is the most sentimental item in your wardrobe?

My grandmother’s jewellery.

What would you buy if money was no object?

Food for the hungry.

Summer or winter fashion? Winter.

Denim or dresses? Denim.

Is there anything in your wardrobe you have regretted throwing out?

There are a few pieces I collected in my early 20s that I wish I had held on to for my daughters. Things like Prada sunglasses and bags.

How many pairs of shoes do you own? About 50.

Favourite fashion era?

’60s Givenchy Couture and early ’70s tailoring.
