- Fashion editor ANNABEL FALCO

If anyone can rock low-ride, flare jeans and a “sock and slide combo” it’s Home and Away actor Emily Weir, who fuses activewear and sneakers with Zian Couture Logie dresses and knee-high zebra boots to create an eclectic yet enviable fashion look. Referencing Zendaya as a fashion muse, Emily also has a talent for nailing off-duty casual and red carpet glam with 1970s silhouettes always a favourite.

How would you describe your personal style?

Pretty eclectic, I like an array of different styles. Athletic wear is a staple and I love a sock and slide combo for comfort but when going out I lean towards a wide-leg pant or suits, heeled boots, and accessories always include a bunch of gold necklaces or earrings.

Who are your style icons?

Zendaya. Every red carpet look she just rocks it! Olivia Palermo is also fabulous and the way she styles herself is always perfection.

What’s the oldest thing in your wardrobe? A pair of Sportsgirl jeans that I’ve had since Grade 11. They are wide-legged, a little flare, low riders. I haven’t thrown them away because I love them so much and weirdly, they came back in for a little bit there.

What are your favourite brands?

I don’t really have favourites. I don’t shop for brands. I will shop in all stores and go with whatever fits well and feels good. For jewellery I can’t go past Lola Knight – amazing earrings that I wear to every red carpet. I love Carolina Lemke sunglasses.

Have you ever made a style faux pas?

Oh so many, but none that I regret. Kneehigh cowboy boots; white, silk Run-DMC pants; mullet haircuts; denim, threequarter knickerbockers … oh the ’90s!

What is the most surprising thing in your wardrobe?

Glitter jackets and overthrows, knee-high zebra boots (for a fancy dress party but if I could wear them more full-time I would).

Top three wardrobe must haves?

Good pair of jeans that you’re comfortable in, a suit that can be dressed up with heels and down with boots or sneakers, a warm jacket with wider arms so you can layer underneath.
