TV presenter, 57

- Fashion editor ANNABEL FALCO

Aperfect mix of tailored basics, custom Alex Perry gowns and Spanx populate Sonia Kruger’s wardrobe, where both her on- and off-camera ensembles ooze style. While she may don high heels and colour during work hours, her off-duty fashion choices are far more comfortable with Uggs and Tom Ford sunglasses to transition into mum mode.

How would you describe your personal style? Monochromatic and minimalist … the complete opposite of my television wardrobe, yep I am #basic.

Who are your style icons? Blake Lively, Vera Wang, the late Carla Zampatti and J-Lo.

What’s the oldest thing in your wardrobe? An old One Teaspoon T-shirt that says Surf Punk, it brings back so many fond memories of those crazy summer surfing days on the Gold Coast.

What are your favourite brands? Toni Maticevski, Alex Perry, Michael Lo Sordo, Bec & Bridge, PE Nation.

Have you ever made a style faux pas? I went to lunch with a huge hole in my pants the other day. My seven year old pointed it out … as we were leaving.

What’s the most you’ve spent on an outfit? I’ve blocked it out … it’s called fashion amnesia.

What is the most surprising thing in your wardrobe? The sheer number of Spanx-style, industrial undergarments.

Top three wardrobe must haves? A pair of slouchy, tailored trousers … a matching oversized blazer and white sneakers.

What is the most sentimental item in your wardrobe? A dress custom made by Alex Perry (inset) for my 40th birthday.

What would you buy if money was no object? A set of Louis Vuitton luggage.

Summer or winter fashion? Summer because it’s less effort to throw on a dress and sandals.

Is there anything you have regretted throwing out? Not really … I love to “Marie Kondo” my wardrobe.

How many pairs of shoes do you own? Not including work-related heels I own five pairs of sneakers, five pairs of slides and two pairs of Ugg boots, so yes I am 10cm shorter in real life!

Favourite fashion era? The ’70s because of its cool laid-back rock’n’roll meets boho vibe … and I love giant sunglasses.

Best designer fashion purchase this year? A giant pair of Tom Ford sunglasses.

Best bargain fashion purchase this year? A black, mid-length T-shirt dress by We Are Golden … it’s so comfy you can sleep in it but throw a denim jacket over it with a pair of sneakers and you’re good to go!

Three beauty products you can’t live without Three Warriors Body Tan Aqua Mist, it’s organic with no chemicals – this one is amazing to apply quickly because it dries super fast and I love the colour. L’Oreal Paris New Age Midnight serum because it works while I sleep. QV moisturising skin lotion, great for applying straight out of the shower and affordable.
