LOCAL AGENTS ZOOM IN ON MAJOR AWARDS

- JARRAD BEVAN

A DOZEN Tasmanian real estate professionals and offices have starred at the 2020 Harcourts National Awards.

In a sign of the times, rather than a flashy gala event, the ceremony was held via Zoom.

Three local agents placed among the best 20 sales consultants in the nation, with Candice Gottschalk, from Harcourts Signature, at No.16, Jeremy Wilkinson, of Harcourts Launceston, at No.13, and Nick Bond, from Harcourts Huon, cracking the Top 10, being placed at No.8.

Nick’s Harcourts Huon Valley office was also recognised as Australia’s No.1 Harcourts office measured by Revenue Per Sales Consultant.

Harcourts Huon Valley owner Nick Bond said his team members all watched the state and national awards — held a week apart — on Zoom from their own homes.

“We also had a group video chat going on the side so we could all talk and congratulate each other while we were watching the awards,” he said.

“We have won the national award for Revenue Per Sales Consultant for the past three years running, which shows our business plan of providing high-quality training to our highperforming agents is working.”

Nick has placed among the Top 20 Harcourts agents in Australia for the past four years.

“I placed fifth last year and eighth this year, along with also being the No.1 agent in Tasmania for the past four years,” he said.

Harcourts Signature placed in multiple national award categories.

It was named No.3 Multi Office

Franchise by Revenue, No.8 Office by Revenue, and it was recognised for Property Management Office Excellence, alongside director

Candice Gottschalk’s placing among the Top 20 agents nationwide.

Harcourts Signature agent and sales manager Janeece Favaloro said there were more than 400 Harcourts offices throughout Australia, making the achievements of the local agents all the more impressive.

“To have a Tassie-run family business like ours achieve national recognition not only means a great deal to our directors, it is also a reflection of the calibre of the staff we employ and their dedication to Harcourts Signature,” she said.

“The awards were not filled with the

usual pomp and ceremony, but it was still important to us that our team got to enjoy and receive the recognition they deserved for their hard work.

“We may be a large company with four offices. However, we are very much a family and the past few weeks have certainly been a learning curve for all of us with so many changes, adjustments and uncertainty.”

Rounding out the awards, locally, Andrew Henry, from Harcourts Kingborough, was named Australia’s No.2 Exclusive Lister, and Warrick Hobart, of NAI Harcourts, was No.3 among commercial sales consultants.

And around the state, Harcourts East Tamar won the Client Experience Office of the Year prize, and Sarah Elphinstone, of Harcourts Burnie, was named the Top Rising Star of the Year.
