TREAT

yourself to two helpings of crazy comedy, chaotic circus and cuttingedge cabaret this weekend when acclaimed performers Dandyman and The Birdmann join forces to present worldclass variety shows for the cool kids in Hobart.

A charismatic mix of Mr Bean, Jim Carrey, Frank Woodley, Jerry Lewis and Salvadore Dali, Australia’s “Prince of Circus and Physical Comedy”, Dandyman (aka Daniel Oldaker) is renowned on the international variety circuit for his fun-filled and eclectic live shows, which feature jaw-dropping circus skills, absurd acrobatics and side-splitting slapstick.

Vaudeville virtuoso The Birdmann — who recently moved to Hobart — has toured to more than 15 countries performing his classic plastic bag juggling, bicycle head-balancing, nostril tea-pouring comedy routine.

On Sunday The Birdmann will team up with talented friends including the twisted contortionist Rani Huszar, fumbling magician Brian Little Fingers and comical circus troupe the Stupendous Spots to present a very different family show, the Cool Kids Cabaret.

Expect more juggling, hulahooping and clowning than you can shake an elephant at, in a cabaret experience perfect for the young and the young at heart.

Dandyman presents Dandyman & Friends at The Grand Poobah from 7.30pm tomorrow; before The Birdmann presents Cool Kids Cabaret at The Homestead from 3pm on Sunday. Tickets are $15 for tomorrow night and $7 for Sunday, go to http://varietyville.com/buytickets.html for bookings.
