Exploring our state of change

-

TASMANIA belongs to all of us, not just our politicians. And so this week we sat down with five everyday Tasmanians and asked them to share their vision for our state in 2022 and beyond.

From a sheep shearer who dreams of a state that celebrates diversity, to a single mother of three who just wants better access to the services her family needs — their responses were as diverse as their backgrounds.

For musician Allan McConnell, pictured, the dream scenario for Tasmania in 2022 is simple enough: a future where fewer of our young people have to leave.

“It would be nice if that wasn’t a move that people had to make, and it’s not exclusive to the arts, either,” McConnell said.
