Queen tips Charles to lead Commonwealth
THE Queen has urged Commonwealth nations to allow Prince Charles to succeed her as head of the Commonwealth “one day”, which will spark a rubber stamp of approval from 53 Commonwealth leaders in London tomorrow.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turn- bull joined other world leaders who rubbed shoulders with the royal family during the official opening of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
The Queen, pictured, and Prince Charles officially hosted CHOGM’s formal opening at Buckingham Palace. “It is my sincere wish that the Commonwealth will continue to offer stability for future generations and will decide that one day the Prince of Wales should carry on the important work started by my father in 1949,’’ she said.
