THE growth of Hobart’s housing market is an outstanding story of success.

Today, in the latest edition of our Sold On Tasmania Property Report, we provide readers with a comprehensive overview of real estate in Tasmania over the past financial year.

We provide a page-bypage synopsis of suburbs across southern Tasmania alongside median house and unit prices and suburb profile reports.

For Sandy Bay residents Scarlett Lennard and Jackson Bird, there is nowhere they would rather live.

Recently the couple sold their Duke Street home and bought another just a oneminute walk up the very same street.

Scarlett said the convenience of Sandy Bay was a big drawcard as everything they need is at their doorstep.

They can walk their dogs at Nutgrove Beach, grab a coffee in the main road shopping precinct and for Scarlett work is three minutes from their house.

Scarlett grew up at New Town while Australian cricketer Jackson is originally from Sydney.

“With family nearby and the city a 15-minute walk from home, Sandy Bay offers everything we need,” she said.

The latest figures from CoreLogic show Sandy Bay has had Tasmania’s second highest median house price behind Battery Point over the last 12 months.

In that time there were 144 houses and 93 units sold.

Charlotte Peterswald for Property director Kim Morgan said historically Sandy Bay has been a smart place to invest.
