Police seek help in shooting probe
A MAN who was shot in the stomach outside his grandmother’s Bridgewater home remains in an induced coma at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Caleb Woods, 24, was shot at close range in a targeted attack about 8.20pm on Sunday, according to police.
Detective Inspector Craig Joel said police were keen to speak to Mr Woods, but it is not known when Mr Woods will be well enough to be interviewed.
His condition is reported to be stable.
Det Insp Joel said police were actively investigating.
“Police are considering a number of lines of inquiry and considering a steady flow of information from the public but we appeal to people to please speak up, particularly about the vehicle,” he said.
Police yesterday found a blue Holden Commodore they believe was used by the people involved in the shooting. Det Insp Joel said it was found burnt out in Viola Crescent, Bridgewater, a short time after the shooting.
He said the vehicle was likely to have been seen around the local area and in Hobart.
“Business owners, like service stations with CCTV, may have footage of the vehicle using or visiting their facilities,” Det Insp Joel said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers, which can be done anonymously, on 1800 333 000.
