Heritage rock climbing

MAYORAL candidate Anna Reynolds states in her policy material that she supports heritage listing the Organ Pipes of kunanyi/Mt Wellington. What does this mean for the rock-climbing community? I’m sure they’d be disappointed if this meant they were no longer able to attach their equipment to the rock face. Charles Gregory Lenah Valley

Simpler voting

A LOT of people are finding voting for the council elections tedious and time consuming. The old system was far better and simplified the procedure: people vote for the aldermen and leave the elected aldermen to vote for the lord mayor and deputy from among themselves. This would also help to reduce contention within the council. John Walsh South Hobart

Left from right

MANY motorists still insist on turning left from the right hand lane when entering the Mornington roundabout from the Rosny end despite the numerous signage and road markings to the contrary. I would suggest to these people that rather than abuse those who avoid a collision with you that you make an urgent appointment with Specsavers. Randall Corney Acton Park

Bike lane won’t cut it

TO the idiots responsible for infrastructure, try doing your jobs. Another bike lane is not going to cut it! Pushing people to take public transport or, God forbid, walking — not in Tassie’s winter climate. Instead of you muppets pocketing the cash, try spending it on what it was meant for … roads. Peter Churchill Howrah

Death row mercy

PAKISTAN’S Supreme Court is set to hear the final appeal of a Christian woman on death row since 2010, accused of insulting Mohammed. Of all the politicians to whom I have written, only one, our Senator Eric Abetz, has shown compassion and has actively worked for mercy for poor Asia Bibi. Peter Troy Kingston
