Chance for young musicians to shine

A new ensemble workshop program will also be presented across the North of the state.
The flagship ensemble, the Tasmanian Youth Orchestra, is for senior-level musicians and offers leadership opportunities, along with solo and collaborative development in a simulated professional environment.
Their repertoire will include works by Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Prokofiev and Britten, which will be played at four concerts throughout the year, with each to be led by guest conductors.
They will also take part in the Symphony Under the Stars, and participate in a rehearsal with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
Applicants should be of Music Grade 7 standard or above and aged from 12-25.
The Philharmonic Orchestra will immerse participants in a large symphony orchestra experience and teach different types of instruments.
They will perform three concerts throughout the year and participate in the Festival of Voices in July. Applicants should be from Music Grade 4-7 and aged from 12-17.
