MURRAY Bridge trainer Stuart Padman is hoping for genuine speed when Debt Collector tackles today’s $100,000 Happy Trails Series Final (1400m) at Morphettville.

The above-average fouryear-old has won two of four starts this time in work and Padman said he was hoping the pace will be on in today’s feature.

“I’d love it to be a non-leader bias Morphettville where he could sit back, come wide and we could really see what the horse is capable of,’’ Padman said.

“We haven’t been able to do that (all preparation), he’s had to be cluttered up and waiting for luck.

“He’s a really brave and determined little horses. He’s not a big horse but he has a lovely stride, a lovely action and a good attitude to racing.”

Padman said Debt Collector had come through his laststart Morphettville win — one of five for in-form rider Raquel Clark — in perfect order and Ladbrokes have installed him a $2.60 favourite.

Raquel Clark again takes the ride having joined Jamie Kah in the lead on 42 wins on the SA Rider’s Premiership.
