Launceston CIB continues to investigate the shooting of a 26-year-old Nunamara man in Pinkard St, Kings Meadows, on Friday.

Acting Detecting Inspector John Parker yesterday said the victim was in the Launceston General Hospital in a stable condition after undergoing surgery to his right leg.

Insp Parker said police were keen to speak with anyone who saw a white Toyota Hilux dual cab and its occupants parked at the scene about 7.30pm.

“Our information at this point in time is that three male persons were all seated in that vehicle when a confrontation has occurred and the male driver of the vehicle was then shot at close range in the leg,” he said.

One man allegedly ran from the scene. He was described as being about 30 years old and wearing a white T-shirt and shorts.

Insp Parker said another man allegedly left in a late model mid-sized white SUV.

The vehicle was seen travelling on Pinkard St towards Nunamina Ave. The driver was described as in his late 20s with short light-coloured hair.
