Chance to be empowered
ROSNY College is an inspiring and empowering learning community.
The college provides a multitude of opportunities and support for its students by offering a wide range of highquality learning experiences.
The college community is proud of what it has achieved in both academic and vocational learning, as well as being well known for its supportive and inclusive school environment.
Staff are looking forward to welcoming returning Year 12 students as well as those starting their senior secondary pathway this year.
In 2018, the Rosny community celebrated many achievements, including the growth and success of the STEAM program in its first year.
An inspirational student achievement out of STEAM was Mitch Torok, who won multiple state awards, took second place in the Senior Secondary category of the National iAwards, and won Pitchfest at the same event in Victoria for his aWear wearable device.
A standout on last year’s Rosny calendar was the Springboard students’ trip to Japan touring their Taiko drumming performances and having a once-in-a-lifetime cultural experience.
Another student achievement came from Rosny duo Dylan and Dan, who won the college acoustic section of the Tasmanian Rock Challenge. Fellow student Joe Stone also took out Best Male Performer at the event.
Sam Freeman won Best Documentary and the Premier’s Choice Award at the MyState Film Festival, and numerous students received top marks for national maths and science competitions.
All these opportunities and more will be available to Rosny College students this year.
The school also looks forward to seeing student Emily Garratt and teacher Clare Latham take on their newly appointed roles as Ambassadors of Public Education as part of the 150 Year Celebration of Public Education in Tasmania.
It is not too late to join the Rosny community in 2019 to complete your senior secondary education.
There is an extra enrolment day scheduled for January 31.
