Taking the plunge as city swelters on
HOBART is expected to this week set an all-time record for the number of consecutive days above 20C.
Holiday-makers and those working outdoors can expect a scorcher today as temperatures have been predicted to reach 29C in the city — and up to 34C in the northern suburbs, with extreme UV levels forecast across the state.
And with the forecast for the warm conditions to continue all week, on Friday Hobart will likely break its heat-streak record of 25 consecutive days of more than 20C that was set in 2013.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a possible slight shower tomorrow with a top of 23C. Temperatures are then forecast to rise on Thursday, when a top of 26C is expected — ahead of 26C and the new weather record for Hobart on Friday.
