Time for uni to pay rates

NOW that UTAS has established itself in the major property sector in Hobart, it’s about time they were charged council rates as all other property owners are. It may claim exemption for its lecturing infrastructure but it should not claim exemption for buildings that will house the students. After all, the students all create rubbish, use water and toilets. This current circumstance is totally unacceptable.
